There are a variety of techniques to deploy cloud resources, all providing corporations with varying levels of control, flexibility, and management. VIDIZMO, a Microsoft IP Co-Sell Ready Gold Partner and recognized in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Video Content Management, offers its customers several deployment options to fit each customer’s unique business, compliance, and technical requirements.
VIDIZMO gives customers the flexibility to deploy resources to host their content in a SaaS-shared multi-tenant or dedicated single-tenant cloud environment via VIDIZMO through public cloud providers such as Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Service (AWS). Customers also have the option to bring their own cloud (BYOC), leverage their existing infrastructure on a private cloud (single-tenant) or, connect existing on-premises resources with infrastructure and applications between cloud-based resources through a hybrid deployment.
SaaS-Shared Cloud Model
VIDIZMO provides its customers the flexibility to host and manage their content in a SaaS- Shared Cloud Model. In this multi-tenant environment, through VIDIZMO’s account, customers share a single VIDIZMO subscription with one or more tenants. This type of deployment is cost-effective and suitable for small to medium-sized enterprises with less stringent compliance and security requirements. Under this model, customers pay either on a consumption-based model or a registered user model. In the consumption-based model, customers only pay for the named (authenticated) users who use the software within a month. In the registered user model, customers pay a flat fee for all named (authenticated) users registered in the account.
This type of deployment model provides the same benefits as a public cloud but with added benefits such an infinitely scalable platform, enabling them to scale up or down as needed while keeping operational costs low. Such as, VIDIZMO’s customers needing to purchase additional digital media storage can do so at lower prices.
VIDIZMO Provided Cloud
VIDIZMO provides and manages a dedicated cloud obtaining the ability to enforce specific policies on the customers’ behalf. VIDIZMO’s dedicated Cloud provides customers with a dedicated subscription, providing them with greater control over data, performance, security, and storage. This model benefits those organizations that want to leverage all the benefits of a public cloud while also maintaining greater visibility into their cost and departmental spending. The model provides customers the ability to test and validate software integrations and updates in the staging environment before their release to internal & external customers.
Customer Provided Cloud
Furthering the “Bring-Your-Own-Cloud" (BYOC) model, VIDIZMO provides customers the flexibility to host and deploy the video platform in any public or private cloud provider of their choice. Businesses only pay for VIDIZMO’s software and professional services to install and manage the solution, while retaining full control over security, compliance, and management of their cloud.
This deployment model is suitable for customers who want to leverage not only all the benefits of the cloud, but also retain full control over the compliance, management, and security of their cloud. Corporations retain full control of their data, identity, access management, network, and firewall configuration while holding the cloud provider responsible for protecting the infrastructure, which is composed of hardware, software, networking, and facilities.
Private Cloud (On-Premises)
VIDIZMO can also be deployed in a private cloud. Customers purchase VIDIZMO’s Server Software + CAL can either install and configure VIDIZMO’s software or engage VIDIZMO’s services team to install the software as required. A private cloud is understood to be a single-tenant environment, which means the organization using the tenant does not share resources with other users. The benefits of this deployment method include self-service, scalability, elasticity, control- and customization due to a dedicated infrastructure hosted on-premises. Also, private clouds deliver a higher level of security and privacy through both company firewalls and internal hosting to ensure operations and sensitive data are not accessible to third-party providers.
This type of deployment is favored by organizations that cannot share critical information with public cloud providers and need dedicated resources to handle such sensitive information. A private cloud can be combined with public clouds to create a hybrid cloud, allowing businesses to take advantage of “cloud bursting” to free up more space and scale cloud computing services to a public cloud when computing demand increases. For instance, digital assets such as videos produced by organizations can be hosted on-premises, but VIDIZMO’s application can be hosted on a public cloud where benefits such as infrastructure which is available in multiple regions of a public cloud can be leveraged. Also, when the demand increases, such as during peak times, a live streaming event or viral video with an unanticipated increase in demand. Sudden increases in video demand can be accommodated by “bursting through” from private to public clouds.
VIDIZMO application can be installed on-premises, on any cloud, or hybrid environment, allowing VIDIZMO to connect with other hosted systems (i.e., any cloud, or on premises). VIDIZMO hybrid models enable customers to mix cloud and on-premises storage, servers, and other resources with different VIDIZMO portals (tenants) in any combination.
Organizations favor this type of deployment for not only eliminating the need to dedicate resources but also to alleviate the need for large capital expenditures to handle short-term spikes in demand. It allows companies to scale their computing resources and costs according to their requirements. Organizational resource expenses are tied directly to the actual use, not to resources that could remain for idle long periods. Furthermore, a dynamic movement of digital media such as videos, between private and public cloud allows companies to leverage additional computing resources and capacity of a public cloud – only when such capacities are needed – adding to its overall cost-effectiveness. VIDIZMO’s hybrid model allows corporations to use the public cloud for high-quality and lower-security digital media assets needs, whereas private cloud (or other on-premises infrastructure) can be used for sensitive, business-critical video and digital media assets.
